Hey guys...I was wondering what celebrities showed up to Oscars Night Poker Tournament here at Hollywood Poker. I suppose James and Vince did, but anybody know or play against any other celebrities?

I've barely started playing this game and this was my first tourney. I was very nerv :silly: ous and excited with anticipation on how to play. I'm brought to the table and find myself sitting on the immediate right of Mike Wood. My first hand I wound up with K's full of Q's after the flop. Slow played to the river and then went all in, winning with two callers. (unbeleival) Unfortunitally one of them wasn't Mike (haha) :silly: and I finished 68th. How,bout those apples.

I haven't been around for a long time, been working - but, the last time I played here I was playing in a game with James Woods, Scott Baio, and ummm...can't remember if Vince Van Patten was in there too, they do usually play together if both are online at the same time. If you want to play with James I'd just have a visit every day or so, he'll be around (just keep in mind of time zones, he'd probably be in Pacific time mostly) - though...if you ask some of the *real* regulars around here they'll probably have more info on where he'd be found online most often (which table and when). Don't forget too, there's other celebs playing all the time...and ya, it's a lot of fun just playing poker games with the celebrities here, they're fun, chatty, and certainly (some at least) excellent poker players! Been reading around - Michael Woods is doing celebrity poker tournaments each week, AND giving out celebrity bounties (meaning you take down a celeb and you get a nice bonus)...anyway, maybe thought you'd be interested in checking that out....here's a link to the info on their site...

Might even start seeing me at the tables or something, just too busy lately, I miss this place though and it's good to be back relaxing... :waytogo:

Did you ever see Woods chat with his fans? I don't think so.
James is playing Poker just like you and me and thousands of other people.
It's just what I said: James has nothing to do with this site, believe me.
It's all fake.

James (or do you prefer Jimmy?),
Saw you play at the Heads-Up game Sat. My question is - how in the world did you draw Johnny Chan as your opponent? It was either very good luck to have the opportunity to play against one of the best, or terrible luck for the same reason, depending on your point of view.
The field was one of the best I have ever heard of let alone had the previledge to see. You should tell this chat room about it!
P.S. Do you know who ultimately won? We went back on Sunday, but didn't stay until the end.

Erm, Caroline xx, what planet are you from? Maybe you don't play enough here but whatever you are trying to imply here, you are very wrong. He DOES chat with his fans and he DOES play poker here like you and me. He's talked about this place on TV shows and mentioned players names who do play here.
I've spoke with him a few times. I've taken a few bucks from him here and he's knocked me out of a tourney or two. He's not only a good actor, but a good son and a good brother. As for as a poker player goes, well, I will get even. Mike is a good guy and if you came around a little more, you would see that.
I can't stand people who talk from their .... well, let me put it this way. I don't know what kind of day your having, but I would suggest relying on the facts rather than relying on what you see. Especially when it's apparent you don't come here often or maybe you don't see for yourself.

His little brother Mike is doing all the talk.
Well, the very first time I ever played on this site I actually got lucky enough to play with James and Scott Baio. Now, Scott didn't say much - but, James...he was even helping me out a bit cause I was going on about being such a new poker player (so true). It was just fantastic, I couldn't believe it actually - one of my first online poker games and I get to sit in with James Woods and get tips from the guy. Seriously, it doesn't get better than that for me. Best money I've EVER lost, ever.
For interest sake, check out the news page on hollywood poker site here...
James Woods, Vince Van Patten, Moonshadow7 at World Poker Tour (http://www.hollywoodpoker.com/hollywood-poker-news022505.html)
...there's a picture there with James and Vince with Moonshadow7 an HP player when they were at the World Poker Tour in Los Angeles. I guess I should've started with that...a picture is worth a thousand of these word thingies...
But, if words suffice, here's the story about the winners of the Oscar tournament....posted in the forum by the ACTUAL user...
Oscar Night Tournament Winner - The Oscar Adventure (http://forum.hollywoodpoker.com/showthread.php?t=1545)
Now with so much supporting the contrary - I doubt anything HP does is fake at all, absolutely not.
Give it another try....and keep trying, you'll get to play with James soon enough I'd think or one of the other celebs that play here...and then you'll see how much fun it is - playing is believing I can certainly see that....give it another shot, you'll have a blast!!

I'm sorry. I love Jimmy and Jimmy loves his mom. Peace.

Was that really James Woods in a $25O FREEROLL?....I see he came like 347th...I think he's better than that, although anyone can get a bad ALL-IN...I was fortunate enough to win that tourney, but would love to talk showbiz with him as I dabble in reality TV (TVtrips.com)...I'm also looking for Ricki Lake....What games and when do these folks play?

Definately check out the Michael Woods Invitational on Thursdays nights at 10pm EST. You will see many of the stars on that night.
It is a very good time to meet the stars and other regular players that also post in this forum and exchange thoughts.
They also have added prizes (Bounty) if you take one of the stars out of the game in addition to the alotted prize pools. Each week Michael picks a special guest from the regular players and puts a bounty on that persons head. Tomorrow Jozepy is this weeks added bounty.
Come join us and remember to say hi in the lobby TVtrips.
Look forward to meeting you. :)

I seen Ricki Lake log in several days ago, I believe it was the 22nd. However, I was unable to get her to speak to me. I told her hello and asked her how good of a poker player she was, but got no reply. I was very disappointed because I have always been a fan of hers, and I'm not really a fan of too many people. It left me wondering if Ricki Lake ever speaks to any of her fans on this site.. She seems like such a nice person from her talk show. It would have been nice to just get a "hello" back from her, even if she didn't feel like chatting with a fan.
