We're thinking of starting a kind of round robin tournament involving teams of 5. If we can get enough teams interested. What we're thinking is you get 5 players, name your team, each team will be seeded, we'll set up private tables and whoever wins at that table, their team moves on. Lets get some feedback!

That sounds like a blast. I've played in those tourneys before at the casino here years ago. The names were drawn and there was a lot of strategies going on if I remember. I don't know how it could happen here because the teams couldn't meet. But it still can be ton's of fun. For St. Bernards!

As a matter of fact, and I think Rosie and a bunch of us here, played in girls against the guys tourneys on another site. We also had international play where team players alternated each week. US vs. Canada; England vs. US; and so on. They were a bunch of fun also. There's alot of possibilities to make for some interesting events. Good luck and take your St. Bernard to dinner on me.

If I remember correctly, the ladies weeped so much during the game, us guys who were compassionate, consoling and humble, sat back and let you win a few. As we do in real life most of the time.

HAHAHA you wish. We wiped the floor with you guys. :silly: If memory serves me correctly dear woman of the pocket pair, the only thing you were wiping were the tears rolling down your cheeks. By the way, you never returned my $50 monogramed hanky.

HAHA I don't think so I placed 2nd in that game and all the men were out by then. I was in the lead thru the whole game and just bet everything after the guys were out cause it didn't matter where I placed after that :silly:

btw that wasn't a monogrammed hanky it was my monogrammed granny panties and you still have em

We were all down for several hours and therefore, were away during the entire game thus, forfeiting the game due to unpreventable circumstances.

This is a fantastic idea!!! We need to come up with a way to structure it. Lets decide what everyone wants.

Dollar amount? I suggest $5 to keep it fun but any is fine for me.

1. Men against women

2. Pick your own teams

3. Draw for teams

4. Pick Captains and let them pick from the player list

Any other suggestions?

OK everyone, lets get the suggestions rolling and Mike can pick the choices he likes and post a poll for the final decision. Or Mike can just pick the one he likes best and we will live with it. Sound good?

Great response so far, please remember it's feasability on this site with this software is not set in stone. But if it's possible, which we hope it will be, we'd love to do it. Keep sending us the feedback and the ideas for it!

Sounds like a good idea. I like either random selection of teams or pick teams from list would be great as long as all folks who want to play get a chance.

Thanks

Hmmmm, interesting idea.

I had a similar idea for a team tournament in June. But the format here sounds better.

I'd be in...I'd just have to transfer the buy-in and get a team, or you can do what Jankow suggested, and randomize teams, or possibly just have picks, perhaps just let the stars be captains of teams.

However you decide to do this, should be a fun event

Many things are in the works, many things being discussed, a couple of which are team tourneys and individual head to head tourneys. Rules need to be worked out, procedures, etc. We hope we'll have lots of things in the future. Just know MANY things are being discussed.

Sounds like a great idea....

I am currently the captain of the "USA Sharks" and our team has been season Champs twice in the "USA Team Poker" league..

Yes Keito, at one time we played the UK & Canadian Teams before their demise........ I know Rosie remembers..... She used to throw popcorn at me during the games..... :silly:

It's a lot of fun and more difficult playing Team poker, than individual. Sometimes having to fold quads to keep a fellow team player in can be painful....

Please keep us posted........
