I'm please to announce another tournament I have the honor of hosting. The Michael Woods Heads Up Invitational. We are going to run a kind of test or beta version with 16 players starting this wednesday night to be sure everything runs smoothly. First 16 players who sign up are in. To be entered email me at michaelwoods@hollywoodpoker.com. Please read the rules and procedures and be sure you can adhere to them before you sign up. Your account must be real money enabled to collect the prize, so please be sure your account is before entering. We hope to make this a regular tournament with a larger playing field. So let's get the show on the road!
RULES AND PROCEDURES:
1) 16 players. All players must have $500 in play money. Players may only enter their respective rounds with $500 in play money. Should a player not have the $500 to enter their round, they forfeit.
2) Players will be seeded by a random drawing, then play 1 vs 16, 2 vs 15, etc. in a bracket style.
3) Rounds will be at 10:00 pm EST on Mondays and Wednesdays. Round 1 on Monday, round 2 on Wednesday, Round 3 back on Monday, etc.
4) The game will be played at a private play money table (2 seats only). The top seated player has "home court advantage" and will set up a private table with both players taking in $500 play money (See Instructions Below). It is the responsibility of the player with "home court advantage" to make the table. Should table not be set up by no later than 10:15 pm on the night of a match, the "home court advantage" player forfeits the match. When one player has been eliminated the other is the winner and will move on to the next round. Should one player not play, that player then forfeits and the winner moves on. Players will have until no later than 10:15 pm to get to their table. If a player isn't seated at their table by then, they forfeit the match. In the case of neither player playing, then the player who would have played the winner moves on without having to play. Example being, A is playing B to see who then plays C. If neither A or B play, then C moves on without playing anyone.
5) It is the responsibility of the winner to email Michael Woods the results at michaelwoods@Hollywoodpoker.com. The player will also be asked to include the date, time and one hand history number from the match.

Hi Mike great Idea . If you have the celebs do the same type of trny maybe the winner of each of the trnys could play each other . That would be great to play head to head with the winning celeb. But theres alot of stiff competition out there, I dont know if my chances are that good (NOT) but it would make for wonderful spectator event .
Keep up the GREAT work its good to see that y`all are keeping it fresh here at HP:waytogo: See ya at the tables

I'm there Sistaaa!!Can't wait sounds like fun.. like a good ole fashion square dance!
Swing your partner round and round
Place your bet, your winning bound
Look your partner right in the eye
Make him weep and watch him cry
On to the next, now dosado
Win him too, then on you go
Even though it's all for play
Ya gotta win for you to stay!
Promenade..... and a way we go :waytogo:
Allemande left, or Allemande right
it don't matter cause we all play tight.
Dosedo your partner! hahaha

I'm sorry Judge, but I don't have the answer to your question yet. Michael is personally organizing this tournament so I've had to defer the question to him.
I'll be sure to update this thread as soon as I know any more information.
I'd suggest that you send him your screen name if you are still interested in participating.
Cheers,

The lowest limit I can find is 10-10 NL Play. If someone knows anything about getting the 5-5 NL could you let me know otherwise it's 10-10 NL at my table 8. :what:
Michael Woods
05-02-2005, 08:07 PM
Sorry typo in the instructions, you want a $5 - $10 table. And it appears you cant name the tables MW H2H Table etc. So please those who are not making the table look for your opponents name as that is how it will appear. Those making the table, just make it with your name. This is why we are running a test first.

LOL, I knew someone was gonna ask me why I kept bumping this thread last night. Just thought it would be Michael Woods..hahaha. I should have known first thing this morning Super Duper Julie would be on the one. Some people wanted to refresh the rules prior to playing.
It was a great success, they worked out a few minor adjustments, which is why we are doing a test run anyway. They went by quickly thanks to MW and HP Manager/Honcho (methinks!, even if he didn't say howdy to Honey  )
Head to Head is harder than I thought. I know I had a tough opponent in KDzip who I now call Mr.Raiseit!... He sure made me sweat, grin, giggle and pout. But in the end if you can picture after the pot going from me to him, from him to me a couple times.......... Honey wins and moves on to the next level on Wednesday. YEEEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!
Thank you for the voice in my head constantly saying, "You can do this Honey, patience, play tough!" See MW, I was listening to you all those times. ;) hahaha.
Hollywood Poker is sure producing some excellent on-line poker players.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to be working to be one of them. One day, I will get to stand beside some of these awesome players.
WTG everyone for a great Head to Head game :waytogo:

Looking forward to this beta tournament turning into a real event for the HP players. Great idea MW and thanks again ;)

Cheers,
