well... we all know the pleasure of playing freerolls... but after a while it can get somewhat boring.. always the same .. most ppl like some change every once and a while to spice it up a lil...

and a month or so ago there was a server maintenance at pokerroom and if i remember correctly it ran a lil lake and the afternoon/evening freeroll at PR must have been created manually because there was a minstake innit..

In stead of the normal 1k starting chips freeroll, they have made a 1.5k freeroll with unlimited rebuys for the first hour for free... and (not that i would like that all the time) it was really fun.. and id like to do it again...

so can we have that sumtimes here too????

Thanks for the suggestion fordie. I agree that sometimes freeroll play can be a little boring. I think people tend to play looser when they have nothing to lose (like in play money and freerolls) so it's hard to read people and weigh the odds.

As I've said to you in the lobby, these hourly freerolls are for a limited time, so we are definitely considering all suggestions for the future. I'll be sure to pass this along to Anthony, our tournament manager.

Cheers,

Julie :)

Thanks for the suggestions fordie.

We do try and keep things fresh and add new tournaments.
To be quite honest I don't see us offering an unlimited rebuy freeroll. My thinking is that there would be crazy all in play virtually ever hand for the first hour, thus severely diminishing the emphasis poker skill and turning the event into more of a lottery.

What do you guys think?

Anthony

I'd rather have tourneys with added money over freerolls.

Ya know, I still haven't seen any free rolls in any of these games. Not even a substitue like a bagel, or even a donut. If you advertise free rolls, you should have them somewhere. I am very, very disappointed.

Hey Fordie, long time no see!
Alles goed? Dat was even lachen in Gent.

See You X :waytogo:

look first im not saying that the event has to have added real money just maybe sum play money entry fee or something. Just something in between, just for fun. and on your comment about crazy all ins every hand.. no.. you would be surprised ... i was in one and yes.. ppl play looser... but not crazy loose.. cuz when ya think of it... if sum1 has like 3k or w/e he wudnt go all in with semi shi-tty cards to loose his stack and to restart with 1 or 1.5 k... ppl below the rebuy amount would go all in amount wud do crazy all ins.... but as soon as they are over that they start to play more like normal freeroll behaviour.

I play 10.000$ preflop every day. its the only ring game i play with play money, because on 'normal' tables, i get bored. 100-200NL table max stack ya can take to table is 10k, so you have to go all in everytime by just seeing ur first 2 cards untill ya win a hand. And i love it. its crazy when you start with 10k, yeah ok. but as soon as you have more then 10k ya play more carefully to not loose ur stack and have to start all over again.
I am playing those tables for almost a year..every day.. for hours.. and no one, i swear NO ONE ever went all in every hand (or almost every hand) because if you do that... you WILL end up loosing. Its a lil crazier, and LOADS more fun then 'normal' poker.. but its still very much poker and not a lottery

i have played in one of those. and at first i was confused about what was going on.. but in the end i had loads ... LOADS more fun in one then in a normal freeroll. i think that most ppl play freerolls mainly for fun. and as second reasons to win experience, and to win some real money.

plus im not really saying that these tourney should be played in a higher frequency then normal freerolls. just a once in a week or so event.

If i think even further, it would be nice to have one of those with no added real money (just some play money as entry fee or w/e) so that everyone from support/ celebs / staff / management / promotion/ directors / whatever .. plus the members are allowed to play

maybe make it a featured tourney... the crazy freeroll. In these times of more on line poker rooms then you can count. you have to be original... and this IS original... and lots of fun... and fun is something where the ppl will come back and make ppl stick....

try it once.. and watch it... heck... even play in it... and you will see, almost the same as a normal freeroll, just loads more fun...
