I heard you can get trackers that work with hp that monitor peoples play. IMHO, this is cheating and I think you should tweak jand history formats weekly to prevent this.

I completely disagree.
It doesn't give an unfair advantage whatsoever. The reason I say this is because you have the option of getting it yourself.
The pokersite is one of the most fair when dealing with it, since you have to be participating in the hands to get any stats, versus party, where you just have to observe the table.
Tracking opponents aside, I would highly recommend you get the program to help monitor and find leaks in your own game. I have over 13,000 hands logged and its helped a ton with my limit game.
If pokerroom was to make it tough on the people who use pokertracker, don't be shocked to find very few ring games going. Anyone who plays seriously will move to a site where they can better monitor their game

I totally agree with you Kas. I keep player notes but I would never use a program for monitoring the players. In my opinion it's like using a card counter at a casino. Shouldn't be allowed.

I don't know if I consider it cheating but it definitly gives them an advantage. What I would like is a program that will tell me what cards are coming then I might cheat for sure. I haven't bothered with anything like this myself, I don't think I play enough. I'd look into pretty much anything that could help me learn more about what I should or shouldn't do if I was going to put more time in.

Answer 1 question for me please.
How is it cheating if everyone who wants it, has access to it?
Because you chose not to use it and I do, doesn't make me a "cheater"

tracker smacker ... use whatever the heck you want, sure this is a game of mathmatical formulia's and im sure tracker might help some people with that. but mostly it's a game of patience and perseverence and most people that use it don't have the discipline to put it to proper use anyway ... it's just a crutch

FYI it doesn't give you the odds to hit an out or any of that.
If you don't know anything about it, I suggest you don't bash anyone using it.

Forgive me for sounding naive, but what is a tracker and how is it helpful or dishonest?

oh sorry frills ... you are right i know nothing about tracker nor do i really care much about it or who's using it. sorry if i come off as being arrogent and i certainly didn't mean to bash you or any1. i ain't the brightest bulb around but i've been around poker and poker players a long time and i do know a few things. one is about 90% of all poker players lose money, about 5% break even, and maybe 5% win on a consistent basis. what i am saying is i don't care what kinda gimmics or information people use the hardest thing is to remain disciplined and keep your emotions in check over the long haul. sometimes even the smartest of all players with all the info at their command can't keep from going on tilt.
