I started playing poker late last year and have since become obsessed with all things poker. A friend of mine took me to The Grand Casino in Biloxi - my first casino trip ever. After discovering the non-stop alcohol, and after getting pretty loopy, I stumbled (literally) into the poker room.
Now, I had seen Texas Hold'em on TV, so of course, I was THE EXPERT on the game. As I settled down into my first ever real game of live poker, I quickly realized why I wasn’t on the WPT. It only took two hands to show me that I was NO expert - but that didn’t keep me from playing.
The next thing I know, there’s a new online place to play and James Woods was hocking it on the radio. So, I thought to myself: “Self, this is an opportunity to get online with new people and try to hone my skills”.
Well, my first real adventure into online poker turned into a huge success. I have played most of the stars here and have won and lost to them. I have been to the MWI final table 3 times (twice in a row, breaking the previous “curse” placed on the bounties by Mr. Mike Woods.)
Everyone asks, "Why are you on the site so much?"
Well, it’s simple: I don’t work nights, but my wife does, so I sit here and play poker while babysitting the youngster (I’m multi-talented). I have played many online sites, but have not found one with a pleasant atmosphere until I landed here.
The two main things I have learned about poker??
#1- any two cards can win, and # 2- any two cards can lose.
May your pots be many - just not as many as mine!
