It sucks that you flopped a set and lost, but weren't you completely dominated the whole way? I don't think of those as a bad beat, although losing all your buy-in sucks....

I swear to god, i lost with a set of 4s on the flop, against a higher set.... Kinda ironic.... of course, mine cost me many, many, many times more money, but you get the point.... I should have kept quiet, lol.

PS - It really DOES suck to lose an all-in with a set.

Very similar to this one (not a 'bad beat' but semi-horrid play on my part) ... cmariewalsh was bullying this table for a loooong time, and had position on me to my left, though I stole a few pots to make some coin before this disaster.....

Hit the 4s, with an A kicker, nut flush is a remote possibility, with the call I'm thinking she can has overcards or a low end str8 draw (A3, A5, 35, 56), I would have raised in her position with higher pocket pairs or trip 2s to take the pot right then to block out any draws I might have, though she was probably wary of a deuce and just called.

The $5 dollar reraise should have set off the alarms, though she often raised big into open pots when the table checked to her, this was a reraise that made me go blind and stupid, I though she was (a) trying to steal another pot now or (b) had overcards and thought I wwas bluffing, I quickly called the $5 without considering the other, more dangerous, possibilities.

My best possible card hits the river, giving me the 44422 full house, no flushes
or str8s on the board, I should have taken a moment to see what else could beat me, but I was so happy to be able to beat down the 'table bully' (which is how I often make my cash on these low limit games) for a big score.

Daaaaaaamn!! I thought I caught the table bully big time, only 2 possible hands could beat me, 22 or 88! I know the $5 call I made at the turn was a horrid call, any hand with a deuce, eight or pocket pairs would have beat me at that point, and I had only 5 outs. The final $12 was very questionable too, but I'd wanted to smack this bully for over an hour by this time... she had me beat at every stage of this hand too, drooling over me committing hari-kari with my cash!!! I guess I was the good fish today...
