I think I just figured it out!!! we should not blame our bad beats on Hollywood Poker!! We should blame them on the poker network!! Listen to this!

I was noticing the last week that more of our HP players have been winning the freerolls, and the big tournaments. My only explanation is that poker network has many sites they control and im sure that each site has to win a certain percentage on behalf of the players. That way it keeps things unbiased and keeps more people happy and playing that site. I've come to this conclusion because it only makes sense why we have had 4 HP players ( who i know) that have won over 1200 dollars in the last week, now we all know that these were tourneys shared with other sites and we all know that they were excellent players. We also know that Poker Rooom has far more players than us. Thats why they win more of the tournaments and why we dont see many winners from HP on these shared tourneys for example (if poker room has 10,000 users and HP had 5,000 users and poker network expects each site to win 10% then poker rooom would still have 1000 winners versus 500 winners for HP.) They still have twice as many winners. SO WE REALLY SHOULDN'T BE BLAMING HP AT ALL FOR OUR BAD BEATS. ITS NOT THERE FAULT!! ITS BEYOND THERE CONTROL! THEREFORE, WE CAN GO ON KNOWING THAT IF HP CANT DO NOTHING THEN THERE IS NO REASON TO COMPLAIN. :)

Hi TWS,

As much as I appreciate your support of Hollywood Poker, I need to point out to you that your theory is incorrect. There aren't any kind of bad beat conspiracies here at Hollywood Poker, and the Poker Network does not have some kind of quota to fill. I assure you that our games are completely random and that we go to great lengths to preserve the integrity of our site.

I understand that sometimes the bad beats you see in online gaming can be harsher than those in brick and mortar playing. There are some factors that need to be taken into consideration when comparing online poker to live poker.

As I'm sure you know, the popularity of online poker has been rapidly growing. With that success, there are many more inexperienced players on online poker sites. These players are not as familiar with the statistical aspect of poker and as such they end up chasing hands that a regular player would know was a long shot.

Due to the sheer number of hands being played on our site at any given time, these players are more likely to catch those lucky cards on the turn or the river and the more experienced players will in turn see more bad beats. It is not that the servers are flagging people or picking the winners at random, it is that realistically some of these hands should not be played and therefore the outcome can be surprising.

The algorithms used to generate cards on our site are completely random and it would not benefit Hollywood Poker in any way to fix the outcome of any games. Our players are gambling with each other and not against the house therefore it is not in our best interest to favor one player over the other.

I hope that this provides you with some clarity on this subject and I would be happy to answer any more questions you may have.

Regards,

Julie
