Wondering what went on with HollywoodPoker.com at the WSOP? Ponder no further! Our very own HP Anthony regales us all with tales of HollywoodPoker.com’s presence at the WSOP.

Join HP Anthony as he recounts tales of WSOP glory, friendship and lounge-hopping at Caesar’s Palace!

In Anthony’s own words…

As a poker player, it’s always been my dream to play in the WSOP. This year brought me one step closer to my goal when I ventured to the 2005 WSOP in Vegas with Hollywood Poker.

It was amazing. A record high of 5,600+ players combined with thousands of spectators and non-stop poker made the 2005 WSOP a once in a lifetime poker extravaganza.

Hollywood Poker had the privilege of participating in the first ever Poker Lifestyle Show at the Rio Pavilion, just a stones throw away from the main event at the Rio. This four day show featured over 90 exhibitors, promoting items ranging from poker apparel to poker magazines to online poker sites – and Hollywood Poker was definitely a main attraction. Visitors to our booth enjoyed playing a few free money hands online, scoring Hollywood Poker goodies, pitting their skills at the tables against the HP girls and of course, meeting celebrity players like James Woods and Vince Van Patten.

While at the exhibition, I was visited by hundreds of poker enthusiasts, many of them Hollywood Poker players. It was great to meet our players and be able to put faces to the names I’d become acquainted with on the site. While I got to see legends like Doyle Brunson, without a doubt, a highlight of my WSOP experience was meeting our WSOP Weekend winners, Emir (Emir1982) and Sam (Greenaroo28). (http://forum.hollywoodpoker.com/showthread.php?t=3202) I can’t say enough good things about these guys! Their genuine delight to be at the event made them nothing short of a pleasure to be around – and I made a point of hanging out with them as much as I could.

The first day, we all became fast-friends over a few drinks at Caesar’s Palace. I learned that Sam was a professional from Toronto, an experienced live poker player and that his flight to the event was not only his first time to Vegas, but also his first time on a plane. Similarly, Emir had never been to the US before, so being in Vegas for the WSOP was a truly exciting experience for this 23 year old 4th year med-school student from Denmark.

Both Sam and Emir proved that they’re forces to be reckoned with and their remarkable playing won them much praise. Of course, Sam and Emir are the guys with the details, so read their first-hand accounts of WSOP glory!

From all of us here at Hollywood Poker, I’d like to extend a huge thank you and congratulations to Sam and Emir – you made us all incredibly proud!

All in all, the 2005 WSOP was a truly unforgettable experience. Memories were made, friendships forged, and my desire to play in the WSOP myself is that little bit stronger.

Thanks for posting that for me Hollay!

It was a great week, but the real highlight was getting to spend some time with our winners and their friends. Sam, Dave, Emir and Soeren were awsome guys and it was a blast being able to hang out with them and talk poker.

You guys did HP proud!
