I work rotating shifts 12 days then nights. But when I get home or wakeup you guys are all here waiting for me to loose some more money  But you don't hear me complaining. I love poker and HP is a great place to play. The all-in guys before the flop suck but what the hell  They can give me their money if they want too.

I like the idea of not having to drive to the card room or casino. The drive there isn't bad but if you lose, it's a helluva ride home.
In my youner years I played quite a bit of poker but as the years went by, with new freinds and acquaintances, my play dropped to zilch. The advent of the internet changed all that. You can always find a game day or night :waytogo: DMA

I live in Las Vegas so finding a casino is easy. But once you sit down your almost commited to that table. Sometimes you just dont like the way the cards are comming to you or the way one of the players plays the game. Its not always easy to move to another table. Online poker means I can sit in my jammies and be comfortable if I feel I have a unlucky seat or table finding another is simple. Plus.. Most of all I really like the HP Site and all of the regulars here. :kitty: :fish:

I think the #1 thing about Online Poker is it's accessability.
You don't have to fly off on a three Day package
You don't have to drive 100 or so miles.
Doesn't take you a while to get there-come home So you can both stay as LONG as you want but also Short-Time as you want.
For some of you - it may be that they don't check your ID. lol
Night or Day 24 Hours you can find a game.
There IS ALWAYS aTable Open ready to deal you in. :jump:
The only bad thing about staying home is:
. . . . . . NO great Casino Buffet!!!

Given the choice, I would always prefer to play live.
But getting live people together, or travelling if there is no casino nearby, doesn't often fit in anyone's schedule.
But there's always a game online (where have I heard that before.....) ;)

Unlike B/M casino where you have time to think about a hand, online tourneys do not provide any real time to real ponder a hand, usually 20 seconds or less. Most players see that as a disadvantage compared to live games.
For me, i use it to develop my skills in determining a hand's value depending on my position, cards and pot value. I truly believe it sharpens my skills in hand analysis and helps me develop a strong style of play for me. And that is something tangible i bring to B/M live tournaments. And for me it has worked out.

i win a average of 125.00 dollars 3 days a week playing live, and average losing 25.00 7 days a week online. so dont start making me think about the reasons i play here or ill have to leave. but playing against large fields of players is the main reason.

I vote all the above in the poll as to why I play online poker. Convenience probably covers most of them. And the 'no underwear' concept begs that this site immediately adds webcam capability!
Secondly, but perhaps one of the more important reasons I choose to play one site over all the others, is the people on it. Professional, courteous and helpful site staff, of course, but also the other players. Seeing the same group and camaraderie replaces the old time regular Thursday Night with the Boys (or Girls) poker game that, as someone already said, doesn't fit in everyone's schedules as well as it used to. Getting to know everyone (for better or worse) in the forum and lobby areas of this particular site is a big seller to me.
I make my modest living these days primarily from online poker. I do very well at some - one in particular - other sites income-wise, but for some reason stay just slightly above even here. Yet I spent at least 80% of my time here last month (to my economic detriment*). That is how much I like coming here to be with all of you folks. Have to spend a bit more time at the other site now this current month, but don't read anything but finances into that, I'd rather be here.
*Oh, and by the way, the fact that I am not making much money here don't hold against the site. I've received a lot of great tips from folks I consider some of the best players on HP that I try out here. As most players know, when you make adjustments to your game your average most often dips a bit at first until they begin to mesh comfortably with your own style. So I will work it out - soon I hope - and be spending much more time here once again.
Right on HP!!! Right concept, right execution, attracting, for the most part, the right kind of people. :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump: :jump:
There, I told ya, as requested.

I like the players. They know that poker is a game of chance.Other sites I have been on the players totaly freak out when before the flop they go all in and there pocket ace's get crushed by someone who called them with pocket two's and made a set of two's on the river.I know that I've been on a few sites where that bad beat came so many times I had no choice but to stop playing there. Now,I know I'm still a little new here but, whatever program you use for the shuffle/dealing,I think is quite realistic and fair. So, I see myself
playing here for a long time.

When I take a bad beat I can scream at the person, who should not have been in the hand in the first place and not have to worry if he is bigger than I am first.
