I've noticed more and more at the money tables alot of lunacy lately. I'm talking of chasers.
The board shows Qc 8h Ah Turn: Qd River 3h - 24h wins!!! What is going on here? What has happened to this game? I know its only in online games, but why does it happen so often and how does one combat such lunacy? Forget playing your best hand any longer, you cant as long as someone has any suited pockets and is chasing that flush your AK or pp or even trips no longer matter!
So again, I ask; how can you play against someone who chases everything and ironically catches what they are fishing for on the river?!?
I just dont see the odds anymore....

Shhhhhh man......don't scare them off those are the guys we make money off of. Remember millions of hands not one, two or even ten sessions.

It depends on the odds the pot lays them. If you didn't raise preflop with your AK or decent pocket pair, your welcoming people to outdraw you. I'm assuming you didn't raise, hence the 2h 4h snuck in. Then, we he flopped four to a flush, he'll make that flush 1 out of 3 tries, and if the pot is laying him good odds, of course he'll chase, he's right too. I can see it's a little reckless to chase with a very low flush, but he probably had the right odds and circumstances to chase.

Now we are getting some poker lessons. You see, everyone sees the world in a different light. The idea of relativism with regards to practices of religion is lunacy. Relativism in and of its self is not a bad thing, and can be applied to peoples style of poker play, given the finite nature of the game. It is not lunacy to chase a low flush to the river with say a 24h. Chances are the guy would not call an All-in, even at the turn. In this case, he had the heart to stick with it because you didn't have the heart to push him off of it.
He didn't do a bad thing, and neither did you. You both just have different hearts you bring to the table. The more you play the more you will realize that this game is about matters of the heart. Weather you have the heart of a lamb or the heart of a lion, all you need is the heart to play the game. Neither is any more or less deserving than the other. Once you realize that, you will see that peoples lunacy is more defined by how they view and treat others as people rather than the how, when, and why they play their cards.
Poker tip: When playing poker, focus more on weather or not you should be in the hand, and less on weather or not others should be in the hand. Then, when the cards are flipped up at the end and it is clear as to who should have and who shouldn't have been there, learn to accept the repercussions of your hearts decision with grace, weather you've won or lost. Then make adjustments from there, as the only heart at the table you are responsible for and will be judged on, is your own.
Per your title, the only lunacy you have a chance to combat is your own. Other peoples lunacy is nothing more than the perception of a heart that is not self aware. A heart that is not self aware is unable to improve, making it more susceptible to be taken advantage of, thus making it weaker and more spiteful. A weak and spiteful heart, is a heart of stone. Hearts of stone make for easy pickings at a poker table.
