I think he's a great player, just because he is full of emotion and goes on tilt doesn't mean he's a bad poker player :silly: . He can read players well, and hey this may all be an act.

One day at the WSOP show, once Phil loses a bad hand, he'll spend his 40 seconds talking to himself about how the opposing player has caught all their cards, and will just push all-in. The opposing player will assume he's on his usual tilt-spree and will call with his low pockets and will be outwitted by Phil's AA!

I like Phil Helmuth just for grins and giggles. he's the entertainment at the table when he gets upset it cracks me up that he gets so p o'd about the stupidest things.. yes he get mad way to easily.. lol there's a name on here that I believe could be his wife.. lol 17yearsofHell Just because of the way he plays I cant imagine what he would be like to be married to. He's like a little kid not getting his way. His wife still is raising him too along with there children ( funny thing is he has been married to her for 17 years) thats why that name fits so well... hahaha

Phil is a heck of card player. No matter what you think of the guy he makes a lot of money.

I find some of his antics amusing. I really enjoy watching him take bad beats.

Guess it depends on whether or not they are trying to bait each other for action later. Although, I have never seen as much chat in any heads up match online or offline. Good observation.

To ALL of you who wanna dog on Phil:

All day long I watch people whine and cry (Myself Included  ) about the calls other people make and the rivers they catch.
Seems to me Phil Helmuth acts just all of you! :poker:

Oh wait, He has won NINE, count them, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 9 9 9 9 9 9
NINE WSOP bracelets! :agree: Also the YOUNGEST  to win the main event.
So I guess NONE of you are anything like Phil. I guess NONE of you would survive 10 hands with Phil. I guess all of you spend literally hours a day studying hands in situations, rather than just playing a lot and THINKING you are really a good player. :roflmao: as you free roll with the rest of us.

Don't get mad. Really think about it instead for once. Has Doyle ever spoken about you? Doyle Brunson has been quoted as saying, "Phil Helmuth is the most talented poker player on the tour today." When you get those kind of props, you ain't exactly the sucker at the table.

So you don't have to like him, but you ought to give that man the respect he's earned at the table. And quit yer whining! :river:

:worship: :worship: :worship: PHIL HELMUTH RULES !!! :woot:

Yes, Phil is a great poker player. No doubt. He's cautious, plays solid cards, rarely bluffs, cashes a lot, and traps probably the best out of anyone... and when his traps go wrong he steams just like the best of us.

But as a person, he's really almost like a kindergarden kid in terms of mentality and maturity.

That combination may be entertaining to watch on TV (to some), but in life, his brand of hipocrisy seems like it would be rather annoying.

I actually find his brattish behavior disturbing and irksome. I think his social skills are on par to a baboon, throwing feces to express frustration (which I think is why my Girlfriend compares me too him). Plus, on top of it... the guy has NO sense of humor.

I'd much rather watch Tony G any day of the week and twice on Sundays. The guy is funny as hell, bluffs like a real poker player, and has a calculated 'brattishness' that in my humble opinion makes him 5 times as entertaining as ugly phil.

That's the name of Phil's book. It wasn't very good. Luckily I got it out of the library and didn't pay for it.

Best thing from the whole book: "Tight is right but Supertight is righter"

I voted 'don't like him' but I don't really know much about the guy, just don't like him.
