RESOLUTIONS

Things are going to be different, I swear by all I hold dear,
That I won’t make the same old mistakes I make every year.
There will be no more all night parties with the usual crowd,
And I’m going to be more humble instead of boastful and loud.
My days of chasing after wild women will also come to an end,
And I won’t gamble away any money that I could better spend.
The whiskey and the beer binges will also come to a stop,
And I’ll leave the dance floor before I keel over and drop.
There will be no more mornings waking up holding my head,
Nor will there be any more strangers waking up in my bed.
I’m going to improve my hygiene by showering every day,
And I swear I’ll eat decent meals, even if I have to pay.
My usual weekly stubble will be shaven off each morn,
And my underwear will be as clean as the day I was born.
I will also telephone my Mother at least twice a week,
And I’ll be pleasant and not interrupt when she speaks.
I won’t sponge off of my friends as I have in the past,
And will repay what I owe if I find a job that will last.
I promise not to hit up my Dad for any more allowance,
And I will stop kiting checks that always seem to bounce.
Cleaning my littered apartment will be a challenging task,
But I will get around to it as soon as I can find a gas mask.
I’m going to control my temper and not yell at my Sis,
And although it will be yucky, I’ll give her a birthday kiss.
I’ll even stop playing poker till the wee hours of the night,
And when I lose a pot, I promise I won’t pick a fight.
I’m going to stay out of trouble by not getting in it,
And I’m going to ..…… Hey! Wait just a darn minute!
I can’t believe I just said all the stupid things I just said,
If I can’t do any of those things, I might as well be dead.
So, on second thought, I swear by all that I hold dear,
I’m not gonna make any resolutions this or any year!

Entry #2

My New Years resolution is to do the opposite of previous New Years resolutions so this way I should be able to stick to it.

I find it amusing that Hollywood Poker would ask us what our New Year’s Resolutions would be. Online is like a casino; you never know if the sun is up or what day of the week it is when you are chasing the last dollar. We here at Hollywood Poker don’t care about time and hence don’t notice when a new year has rolled around. So how can we make any type of resolutions?

But let’s say that we players are like the rest of the world and do make one or two or several resolutions. Mine would be the following:

• Not secretly wish that I can teleport myself to the front door of an opponent who called my huge raise pre-flop with an 8,3 (“But they were suited!”) and managed to catch a boat and let him know what I really think of his poker skills.

• Not to bang on my desk when a player forgets to hang the Away sign because nature call or because they don’t have the wherewithal to just fold and would rather watch the clock run out.

• To stop my vendetta to try to bring down players with ‘King’ ‘Pro’, or ‘Xpert’ in their name. It’s nice that their mommies think they are the best players in the world, but to advertise it?!

• My last resolution will be to continue to applaud players who play with class and say NH and TY.

I have met several great personalities, and I know I will continue to do soon this site.

Let’s all have a great year and GL at the tables.

Cheers,
swankdaddy10

My personal resolutions are to resolve the resolutions that I resolved to resolute as resolutions last year. Though it is probably not much of a revolution to reveal the revelation that I am revealing about not resolving previous resolutions that I resolved to resolute . . . revealed or unrevealed, resolved or unresolved . . . and thusly revealed to be yet again unresolved.

I hope this revelation might reveal a solution toward resolutely resolving your resolution confusion and absolutely conferring absolution on those of us whose conviction has such contradiction with respect to respecting and then expecting a resolute resolve of our New Year's Resolutions respectively.

It is my perceived perception this personal problem prevails as it permeates primarily the previous, precious prior few days of this proverbial New Year. Therefore, I hereby resolutely resolve to absolutely abolish this predilection toward our New Year's Resolutions with this revolutionary revelation as just previously revealed herein.

Good luck and may the farce be with you . . .

Wow Al- now I'm just confused! :what:

Hardly a phenomenon, granted, but I'm perplexed nevertheless. ;)
