My New Year’s Resolutions:
- To explore new and interesting casinos around the world.
- To play more old school pot limit games like I used to. There’s more of a luck factor in no limit. In pot limit, the skilled and solid players get their advantage from the weaker maniac players because the game is more structured. It’s still a bluffing game, but not a maniac game. The weak players don’t benefit from pot limit, which means I’ll be in the right percentage; I’ll have the edge.
- To not play tired.
- To get in the best shape of my life to play – both mentally and physically. Poker is a game of stamina. People forget that you have to be at your peak endurance to play your best. It really helps if you’re physically fit. I often go for a run before a game – it’s great to sit down at a table fueled by endorphins!
- When I play big events like the WSOP, I’ll take them more seriously – I’ll get up for them and get ready to be there for 5 days.
- To set a stricter limit for my losses in the side games and get up and walk when I hit it.
- To never proclaim that James Woods stinks – even though he does.
Just kidding – James is a world class player!
Happy New Year to all my friends at Hollywood Poker!
