Got a question about the lobby chat.....

....it seems to just not work...I can chat for a bit..then it stays gray and does not turn darker so that I can enter it... Im on the download version... Please help as that is what I enjoy apart from playin a bit of poker from time to time, I like to chat on the lobby.. Thanx for any input you have on this..and if its a glitch on ur part, will it get resolved? :what:

I reported it to support ( and they're not as fast as Patricia) and this is what they sent me.

Here is some information that can help you to improve your internet connection and playing our games plus solving some common problems:

BROWSER UPDATE:

If you have Netscape (or an old version of Internet Explorer) please install the latest version of Internet Explorer. Download (IE) Internet Explorer 6 here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp?

It's under TOP DOWNLOADS. Click on that link and select language. After you have installed IE 6 I suggest that you update your new browser with the latest improvements and security patches. That can be done here: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/.

After you have installed IE 6 you must restart your computer and also when you have installed patches.

JAVA UPDATE:

http://www.java.com

Click on the "Get It Now" tab and it will start to download the latest version of Java for you if you do not already have one. It's for Windows XP, Me, NT, 2000, 98, and 95.

APPLICATIONS RUNNING:

If you recently have installed new applications or have a lot of applications running in the background when playing that can be a problem. Try to experiment and close down programs that you don't need.

This was my response.
My PC is completely up to date, clean, etc. Others have mentioned the same bug. When you type, it's grayed out. Hitting enter doesn't send message. You have to close out window and open again. Can't do that when you have a few real money tables going. I use IE6, have WinXP, Java's up to date and run windows update frequently. Like I said, others have complained about it also. Please check it out. I'd like to chat with some of the people I've met here as well as Michael and James Woods, Willie, and others when they appear.

Thanx Patricia, however, I am with Kieto on this one...I sat and played at a table and my chat in lobby NEVER became black in order to enter it... I would of had to close out and come back in..... Not good ..... :)

There is a bug in the download. What I do is use the download to play at the tables and open the website and use it for chat, Works great for me. Good Luck!

About chat pooofing out (i'm getting tired of closing the downloaded version and reopening again, I tried opening the JAVA window for HP so I can chat, but when I do, a window for the table I was playing at in the downloaded version freezes and a new java window pops up taking over. I use the downloaded version so I can keep track of my stupidity. lol. I'm think that maybe I should uninstall and reinstall. What say Mike?
