View Full Version : Hmmm
Just logged in by clicking the "Click Here to Play Poker at...." and was logged in under someone elses account 'diamonds18' and as well the other day when trying to log in for the invitational tour. did the same thing twice under the name of 'TO-semore' .
Have asked a few times if this could be looked into, but haven't heard anything back. I can only guess if I can log in under others accounts, then others can log in under mine.

Scary. I haven't been logged into anyones account but I will be logged in with Remember name and password and I click on "click here to play poker" and I have to re-enter everything. All my cookies are enabled.

:what:
Same thing is happening to me Rosie. All cookies are enabled, and I have to load thru a back door of sorts.
Tho, I haven't logged in as sum1 else. Yep, D-M a bit scarey.
The other weird thing is I invited 2 ppl here, that I KNOW do not have accounts at Hollywood, and I got a reply saying theu were already members.
Kinda pisses me off, since they play for real money, and would like the referrel bonus for them.
They are real money players at P0kerr00m---wonder if that's why. :what:
pokerroom uses the same server as Hollywood, as well as a few others places...if a name is there, or at one of the other sites using the server, it won't accept it. I can't make a 'Dead - Money' name here for that reason.
You could in theory, sit and play there, then come here, log in and watch yourself play. lol
A lot of sites share servers, is fairly common, just not many people are aware of it.

I don't think that should make a difference connie. If they are members of poker room i mean. This site is owned by a totally different company. It's very weird.
I am really freaked out about DM getting logged in as someone else tho. Cause if he is being logged in as other people, someone could get logged into my account and then they could withdraw my money or dump it to someone.
I hope support looks into this very seriously!!!

I had a real money account at pukerroom DM but my real money account here is seperate. If someone had sent me a referal b4 i joined it shouldn't get shot back that the email address is already a member.
I agree Rosie. For perks or otherwise...I would imagine it wouldn't count, that name in use on the server from a different location...maybe something that needs to be clarified.
for the record, there was 0 $$ in either account...someone had a little bit of play money in theirs built up...but, erm yea..I can still log in as them, and directly into their account info also.

not good not good. I wonder if I should make sure I'm always logged out when not actually playing. Altho I don't know how you are logged in as them When your computer shouldn't have their cookies on it.

I signed up for the Lucky Dollar which I used to play at the other site. It took my dolar, and then when the hour came round, it said I wasn't registered for that tourney. Some kind of trick, eh? Not with HP I have no doubt.

This is a serious situation that requires immediate attention. Perhaps, a password change might be wise. :what:
I haven't experienced this first hand but, if it can happen to one...it can happen to others.

hmmm this is disturbing for those that play real money here. Along with those that play just for fun as there personal details are being viewed.
glad i stick to my own policy of false details until i know these things are safe.

Hey everyone,
I will look into this first thing Monday morning for you but in the meantime please send an email to support so they know what is going on. Let me know here if you hear from them and what they say.
Sorry this is happening.
I did send a message a while before I posted this Patricia, and haven't heard back yet...but will post when I do. the last 5 or 6 times I have clicked it, I have gotten my own acct. One thing I have noticed is it seems to happen after I clean my temp. files and cookies...but was signed into the forum with my ID...and like I say, for whatever reason when I logged into server, that is when it happens.
Enjoy your weekend. :)
Hello D-M,
I am a Tech for Hollywood Poker. I am currently looking into your problem right now.
If you have any other information such as what system are you using, what browser you are using, can you repeat the problem (and how you repeat it), that would be very helpful in resolving this.
Thanks,
-Dan
hi Dan...
am using windows 98, and Internet Explorer version 6.0
I was each time it happened logged into the message forum with my account 'D-M' when I clicked 'Play Poker at Hollywood Poker..." in the top right corner and inadvertantly ended up on these other peoples accounts.
hope this helps.

Yes D-M, I remember when the "TO-Semore" thing happened to you. I was talking to you in the chat screen and you realized, "Hey TO-Semore, who is that?" You told me you were D-M so I knew who you were. Then you logged of and came back on as D-M. It was weird for sure!
We know you can figure this out Dan! Please, we wouldn't want to lose a good guy like D-M cuz of a little bug. By the way, D-M is way better than TO-Semore anyhow! LOL
Hi D-M,
I apologize for this inconvenience with your account. I have tracked down this issue and resolved it. Your account alone happened to be unlucky and got affected by a small glitch. I've corrected the glitch with your account and made sure it won't happen to you or to anyone else again.
Thanks for letting us know right away, so we could speedily correct it. Also, don't hesitate to let us know if you have any further issues with your account.
Cheers,
Dan
thanks Dan and Patricia for your help in this matter. I'm not a very techie person, so have no idea what might have happened, just knew something sure was wrong being able to log into others accounts...and I really didn't want to have any part of it.
Regards,
D-M :)

so now what's to say this won't happen to someone else?
Hey DeadLurker,
I assure you this problem has been fixed. This error was caused due to a recent update with Internet Explorer, which, in the odd case caused this gliche with a couple accounts. We have fixed our code for this update, while also ensuring that it is working properly for the other updates.
If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask...
Cheers,
-Dan
