If playing poker . . . .

Don, to be fair to your support staff and members THIS (above in red) appears NOT to have been enough notice of cancellation of the CPNW. Also since the tourney appeared on the tourney calendar AND was open for sign up with both members and Celebrities signing into it last night - over 200 as a matter of fact when the question of it being 'cancelled' first came up.

Your support staff told those who asked that it was indeed cancelled as I am sure they were instructed to do. But as it became more confusing for folks already registered and it looked as if the tourney was going to play anyway, support was able to get confirmation that since there was so much interest in playing the someone at HP authorized that it would be played as usual.

Reason I am posting is that several people that were told SEVERAL TIMES that it was cancelled earlier and left to find elsewhere to play THEN later turned back up in the lobby only to find the tournament was in full swing. These folks felt upset that they were given misinformation by Support, which was not really the case as Support gave them the info they had at the time. But the information they received ultimately was not correct.

As usual, your Support handled the situation very well but you may need to coordinate better with more prominent postings of cancellations. Also the 'cancelled' tourneys should NOT show up on the schedules ready for play.

Even if this tourney hadn't played - that is to say, STARTED on the scheduled time - and cancelled itself instead, I think the heat in the lobby would have not been fair to both your Support staff OR members.

Just passing along the info to you for your consideration.

Hi all,

Please accept our apologies for the miscommunication with the Celebrity Poker Night tournament last night. The tournament was intended to be cancelled as we could not confirm a host due to the holiday. Unfortunately it slipped through the cracks and was not cancelled from the tournament schedule on time. Again we apologize for the miscommunication.

Regards,

HWP Support
