hi all, im really trying to find out why so many players are always making smart remarks at the celebs we have here at hp. let me put it this way, 1. they come to play here to give the normal poker playes such as you and i a chance to talk to them and yes even play poker with them. 2. they dont have too, but do to make it fun to see them in a tourney at many tables, not just the celeb tourneys either. they play regular sng tourneys , hvh tourneys. but lets also keep in mind the rewards of them playing the celebs tourneys with us three times a week, we get the chance to win big cash prizes by taking out 1234 celebs in any celebs tourneys which is worth alot of money as well as prizes. so i ask that you please treat the celebs with respect and always be kind to them. after all they come here for me and you to talk ,play, and get to know them as well as to get a shot at alot of money in a tourney. so be kind and hope you all win big at least one game a day. thank you terryruss:happy:

I'm beginning to see a pattern here Terry... for whatever reason .. when one person makes a snyde, derrogatory, or just plain stupid remark - there are, inevitably, at least three others that feel the need to one up them. It won't ever change on this site or in life until people once again start respecting the differences in others.
Just keep in mind -- if one has no self-respect, they'll have no respect for another .. ever. I don't blame it on parenting; the schools; the environment; or anything other than them, themselves.
We all know this site is loaded with multi-acct names; minors; and bannings from other sites .. but it is also full of Good People ... try to focus on them (as I believe the celebs do as well) and ignore the ignorance.

I agree, too. If you don't give the riff-raff an audience, there is no fuel for the fire. There are plenty of good people on this site, that deserve time and attention. If you spend time responding to those that have to make trouble, you've wasted an opportunity to make a great moment in someone else's day.

I agree, I've experienced it firsthand with my best friend, HP model Ashley Dorenzo. A thread was started about her (if you look under celeb sightings, it's under her name, I don't know how to attach them) speaking about a blog. Well, something was misunderstood (which HP accidently mistyped) and she was made out to look like a fool. I was absolutely "peeved" because I know where the person who started the thread was coming from and with given time, it could've been explained with a simple email to her. But there were other offensive comments made that were uncalled for and the thread turned into an argument on politics!
Celebs come here to play with us, like you all have said and it's sad that pathetic losers talk smack about them. I enjoy hoping to nock out or even play a celeb and I think celebs know that they are better than these idiots that decide to talk badly about them. Like I said, they are just sad, pathetic, idiots!;)

yes you are so very right schaf, these people are just plain idiots and wish hp would just bann them at least for one day to show them they cannot talk bad to the celebs or they get a one day bann.terryruss:happy:

I would say some people want to be noticed and the only way they think they can do this is with negative remarks. These people are also known as internet trolls, every forum, every chat room, and any place you have interaction with other people you will find them. It is not just stars, although they are an amazing target.
Last night while playing a bonner ave game, a player began a tirade against another player that sickened me. I can understand a moment of frustration, but, people are suppose to be adults on this site, typing comments are quite different than saying them. It takes much more time to type an abusive comment out than to verbally abuse someone, and backspacing over an abusive comment is an option.
I would not cancel their account, but I think some action needs to be taken, perhaps a six month chat ban first offense and permanent chat ban after. I would not accept the "I am sorry, I was having a bad day so I was abusive it wont happen again" explanation, since this has become common with many players.
Perhaps if this was addressed during player signup with a rule stating a permanent chat ban, no tolerance, this problem might be solved. I might be dreaming too. :)

kaytara, yes i agree they should do something to stop this nonsence , it gets out of hand at times then people yell at support to do something. but support already does what they can. but there comes a time when more drastic things need to be done. most people here at hp are decent real poker players and they play well. but as any online site ,yes there will always be the ones to get people upset on purpose to either throw them off their game or some are just hatefull people with no respect for themselfs or no one else. these are the type that need more done to them. but ive finally learned myself either hit the mute button or reply with some kind words, that really makes them mad.but anyway maybe something will happen soon i hope one way or the other. thank you for sharing. terryruss:happy:
