Didn't know where else to put this so here it is. I always wonder at the differences in Payouts for tournaments. Why doesn't there seem to be a more uniform spread on payouts. STT's top 30 percent get money, 20 seaters get top 4 paid, 30 seaters top 20 percent but you see in some of the MTT"S that happen to have only 30 it's top 4 paid.

Another question is why in some of the higher entry tournaments is there so many getting paid the exact same amount. I've seen tournaments with over the first 60 people in the payout get paid the same amount. That many people could be there for several more hours just to get to the next level of a payout. Yes I know the prize pool would be spread out more thinly that way. I'm just wondering about that. Hopefully someone can understand my rambling and what i'm asking. I ask because someday I might actually make the payouts in a big tournament :roflmao: hey i can dream can't I? ;)

I dont understand why someone would play MTT SNG. for 20 player tourney, they add one more payout. It mathmatically harder to win, but the payout is not doubled.

i play the 20's and 30's once in awhile because I seem to have better luck with them. about the only reason I tend to play the 10 person ones is because it's usually with people I talk to a lot..

I think it's an interesting question, derbie :what: But, and this is bit off-topic, but several folks have suggested that the MTT 20s and 30s ARE in fact a bit easier... my question is 'why'/'how'? Is there a different strategy used? I'm not a pro and I don't even pretend to be on tv - but seems to me, odds 1 in 10 are better than 1 in 30. I'm sure the answer here is more than obvious, I'm just missing it

Appers if you really wanna play the 30's talk to Al N Smithee. he's the one that got me started on them. just lay back for awhile playing only the really good cards you get. Like he said most of the time half of the people will clear themselves out. naturally dont' always finish in the money but percentage wise i place better in these tournaments then single tables. Also I have better experience playing the ones later in the night too. not sure where you are but i'm talking about ones the will be filled between 10 pm and 1 am Central time

why do some people play the 20 and 30 dollar freerolls with the intent to win? the odds of beating 700 or more people for three payouts is mind boggling.

I dabble in freerolls now and again but usually don't make it to the final table.

I usually end up getting annoyed with the freeroll cowboys and then tell myself it isn't worth the time I gotta invest in playing for the payouts.
