I know this was advertised as a surprise, but I never thought the surprise was NO TRNY. A lobby full of celebs and peeps waiting to play and no tournament. At least management should have told support what what going on, we all kept waiting for the surprise and no answers were available.

That as good as HP is in most every other area . . . their information chain to THEIR OWN SUPPORT PEOPLE and thus us the membership has ALWAYS been lacking.

Timely information hardly ever passes here. Again this being another example. The surprise is actually NO surprise that HP Management has NOT YET addressed THIS issue.

  Why would the CPN not run tonight? If "showtime" was there why would the CPN not run?

This was a bad night at HP. The lobby was nuts, every other question was "is there a cpn tonight" Hardly any responses... And the nameless HP support person kept typing in the lobby about a surprise guest host tonight.

So, we all waited and waited and waited....... we are still wating.

I guess the support person should have came back and said "You all just got punked" :silly: :silly:

Maybe we can have a make up cpn??

Kind of mad we did not get to play it or someone could not give us a straight answer why we would not have the tourney

In addition to the celebrity poker night frustration, there were dozens of us in the lobby asking for help to be allowed to play the restricted freeroll, which we could not play despite being registered. If it was a problem with a serever or something, you would think they would at least apologize by email. For some of us (I make good money at my job, as I am sure do many of the celbrities and others who were incovenienced) the wasted time was an added burden. Support by email was especially unsupportive. I knew Bush would never admit to his mistakes but it appears like HP has the same sickness..

Hi all,

The CPN tournament did not go off last night due to a technical error of which we could not have any prior warning. We are following up with our Network to ensure that this does not happen again.

Please accept our apologies for any incovenience caused.

Warm Regards,

Hollywood Poker Support Team

It was a technical problem that only affected the Celebrity Poker Night tournament. I assure you that it was not a planned cancellation and we did not have any prior warning.

Again, please accept our apologies.

Just find it weird that only the CELEBRITY POKER NITE would have a problem:eek:

I find it weird that support was notified yesterday morning that the CPN was not on the Tourney Schedule, but yet they were still spamming the lobby for it. "No worries, it will show up" LOL

Julie --

Just thought you should ALSO know.. More than a few would not have played the 2K FR had it not been for KingDolla ... who took the TIME & PATIENCE from his own entry in both the 2K and the 250 FR's to manually look up and advise, in the Lobby to Every Frustrated Player Who Screamed - Which table they were on -- Something they could have Easily done themselves, since they were advised by many to do so, but would not for the most part!

KUDOS TO KINGDOLLA!!!!!!!!!

Well I wish he or someone like Kingdolla had told support so I coulda played, what is it I needed to look up? I tried rebooting and double clicking the two things people were discussing for the hour or so that me and dozens of other players were trying to get help and did not get it, but I am glad that someone was able to figure it out and to help some of them. By the way support thinks I was playing the 250. I am so sorry to have to leave this place. The people are good but you cant have a point system and then not honor it.

Not to beat the proverbial 'dead horse' but WHY can't your lobby support staff be brought up to speed faster once a technical problem has occurred?

We all know they happen and it can be disappointing but it is also understandable due to the many tempermental technologies involved in these programs. But, nearly ALWAYS the same thing - Lobby Support seems to be the last in your system to know ANYTHING substantial and is destined to spew the same homilies which later are found to be wrong, or at the least dismissive. This does NOT support your Support well and makes it harder for them to be believed when they DO HAVE the proper information. THIS part is NOT understandable. Why would HP want to continue to handle things in this manner?

I am only flailing on the horse because this is NOT the first time I am writing about such. Seems like it is necessary nearly every time something of this nature goes awry because HP still doesn't get the Information into the hands of the people who are on your front lines fast enough, if at all.

Can you put this in the internal 'HP-Suggestions for Improvement' box for me again one more time please? That way we can all win. Thank you.

Al I will absolutely pass along your feedback, however please keep in mind that when there are technical support issues, front line support is usually the first to know. This was not a case of miscommunication or lack of information provided to our support. The tournament was not cancelled last night and therefore first line support was the first to hear that there were problems with it.

First line supports actions were "no worries, it will show up soon". There lies the problem, denial that there even was a problem.

Not to be picky but calo is right. Go back and read some of the lobby chat from last night for the hour or so leading up to the normal CPNW start time. For a 'not cancelled' tournament that wasn't showing up on the tourney scroll listings support really had no clue as to what was going on at ONGAME and that there was the more legitimate possibility that it WOULDN'T show up.

ONGAME may have strung your Support along but someone at ONGAME should be directly responsible for contacting someone at HP, who ALSO is in DIRECT CONTACT with your Lobby Support to eliminate much of this confusion. If this IS the case already, it isn't working very well.

You KNOW I'm on your (HP's) side and just trying to be critically constructive here. Just seems everytime something of this nature happens Lobby Support's - and thus, HP's - reactions appear to be like a Chinese Fire Drill. (Probably a politically incorrect term these days, but very apt visual for someone of my generation. Therefore, my apologies to the future owners of America. But that's another topic entirely.)

I wasn't aware that I posted an "opinion". I posted nothing but fact. Lobby support was told in the morning that the CPN was not on the tourney schedule on the website. That SHOULD have been the first clue, and maybe? could have been resolved in time and saved a lot of angry/confused customers.

Well, I started this mess. Ya see julie, we were in the lobby chatting. Told more than once that it would be up, just hang in there. We watched all of the celebs(bounties) ask the same question and be given the same answers. Very fustrating to be told a trny will be up soon and watch as time goes by and no trny.

I noticed that the CPN (part of the celebrity bounty series) trny was not even on the web site schedule for yesterday, so it had to be known that there was a problem.

Front line support needs to be properly informed to prevent the kind of lobby blowups that a situation like this creates. And the players deserve more respect and notification in situations like this.

No excuse can rectify this situation, only solid support (backed up with proper information) can help to resolve this.
