Take a look at this SUnday, the HPCC is now $22. New qualifiers for these $22 tickets are currently running on the site in teh SnG Area. I never saw an announcement, but if it had to be why in the middle of the month? Some are in contention for the Top 5 award and trny and now have to pay the higher entry or give up the spot they worked so hard for without a fight. Of all of the celebrity trny's, the HPCC is the least attended by the celebrities. Higher entry fee, less bounties, MAKES PERFECT SENSE TO ME (NOT)!!
Maybe rather than increase the entry fee on the HPCC, HP should have been worrying about the chpFR's that players earned during the past month. Now with the 1K postponed, players either have to rework there schedules or miss a trny they qualified for. JUST DOES NOT SEEM RIGHT!!!

FULLY in AGREEMENT Surf -- My question is, are the Other 2 Celeb Tourneys also seeing an increase in their buy-ins? I understand that HP does reward handsomely for bounties in these tourney's - but wouldn't it make more sense to not Limit the amount of players who are able to afford the 10+1 and simply lower the bounty on the say the 2nd celeb? I don't know what the answer is .. but I do know that some kind of Post by HP - or an E-mail announcing this sure would have been nice. Come Sunday afternoon - a LOT of folks are gonna be screaming about this too  I just know I won't be playin in any more!

hi surfman, i agree it was to much of a raise unless they are changing the bouties prizes to, to higher amounts or making sure that there is no less than 15 celebs in each tournament to give people a fair chance and to never let more than one celeb at a table, making it fair to all. also the price is too high for just a normal one, you are right, and right to about not giving any warnings to us players. thanks terryruss:happy:

They SHOULD wait until OCTOBER to raise the price. Not FAIR at all to those who are in the points race and have their tourneys LINED up with how much they THOUGHT they would spend. And also, those who need to make up some ground are going to be at a disadvantage the rest of this month because the entries will go down so you can't make up as many points:what:
Seems HP is thinking clearly again and keeping us players SO VERY HAPPY

It's all about the rake....helloooooooooooooooooooooooo
First off, our apologies that you had to stumble across this information. With regards to the changes you've noticed to the HPCC, it was the intention of HP to have all the details, changes, and qualifying tournaments be announced simultaneously. Rest assured there is an increased value feature being added to compensate for the increased buy-in and, as you observed, we are offering low level Sit & Go qualfiers that potentially offer a cheaper alternative to the original $10+1 buy-in.
Unfortunately, technical difficulties of late led to the early publication of some of these tournaments and for that, once again, we sincerely apologize.
We are in the process of revamping our Featured Tournaments and Promotions in response to player demand and as a means of improving the Overall HP experience. Further details will be made available later this week.
Please be patient and all will be explained soon.

Mark,
First, let me say Thank You for your timely response. I am the King of Patience, just ask the other players at my tables  , but somehow I just don't think players demanded the doubling of the price for the HPCC. Sunday afternoons trny should be reduced to $5 + .50 due to the lack of celebrities playing in the event. All I ever see in the trny chat window is conversation about the lack of celebrity participation. I can't say I blame either the players or the celebs. Sunday afternoon (still morning in Hollywood) may not be the best time for this trny. Somehow I feel that this increase will deal a death blow to this trny, and that is a shame.
I anxiously await the release of the further details, however you need to remember that $22 may be alot for quite a few of the regular $11 players and may have a different effect than you originally planned. A special $22 trny can be successful since it is not a regular event but a weekly $22 celeb trny without celebs will more than likely not succeed.

Yes, Surf, have to agree with you on most points. This is quite a shock.
But more concerning is whether the Top5 leaderboard extra prizes will even exist AT ALL anymore! I mean, the added money was taken out of the Easy Money, so I'm not at all confident now that the Sept HPCC will even HAVE the added $1000.
Mark, can you comment on that?

Well seems like most everything has been said except: Regarding the sng qualifiers. $2.25 entry in a 20 person game come in first get entry ticket; $5.50 entry in a 10 person game 1st and 2nd get entry tickets.
Just how effective is this going to be. If u place, great, but how many people are going to play in order to get a chance?
I would like to try a qualifier sng, but don't think there will be enough people interested (at least without waiting most of the day for it to fill up).
The turn out for the HPCC is already low, most players will get upset because the buy in doubled without notice and not play.
I also protest the increase in the HPCC, I am currently 6th in points and was hoping to be able to continue playing in the tournament on Sunday. Now it is questionable to say the least.
Hope things work out here, but there is a lot of repair work to do regarding the loyal players that have been upset and disappointed.

Well it seems like the additional price has had an adverse affect on the turnout for this tournament. What, about 1/2 the usuall players and what, only 6-7 celebs??? Very, very, Very disappointing.
I was up in the points standings, but the buy in is just tooooooo muuuuuchhhh. Doesn't look like I will be able to play in all the HPCC's this month and that will blow the points chase. :wagfinger
Oh well what does HP care about small time players?
Way to go marketing execs. at HP. You sure know what you are doing.

Whether they do change it or not, raise the price or not . . . I agree that it was pretty shit.ty of them to do it in the middle of a monthly points race. Especially, to loyal players on a budget who were in decent standing on the leader board after the first two games of the month.
WTG HP Public/Player Relations Department - or LACK thereof - again.

I was obviously disappointed at the increase in entry fee. The SNGs never seem to fill as this would be the preferred route in (at least for 1 or 2 attempts).
However, there is one slight advantage - the higher buy-in has reduced the participants and thus increasing the likelyhood of having a Celeb at the same table.
This last Sunday was the first time I have actually had Celebs at my tables - I took full advantage to KO four of them :D. I love it when a plan comes together LOL.
The other point made I strongly disagree with is the time played. On Sunday the HPCC is 7pm UK time and is ideal for those in Europe. It is one of the few tournaments people like me can actually play in at a convenient time, rather than continually missing out because the other big tourneys are 2 or 3 am BST. These times coincide with my work, so I actually also miss the bronze, silver, etc freerolls normally.
Talking of the Freerolls I have actually taken days off work last month and also booked for next week to play in them only to find that the bronze was/is rescheduled to the following week. Now that is extra annoying!!!!!
I feel it's about time tourneys were offered at times to suit our side of the world rather than the US timezone all the time. Can Americans still play by the way?

Americans can all still play, at least for 8 months. As long as the poker sites don't chicken-out and kick them off. It's really just a semi-bluff by the US govt to try and get the poker sites to over react. Yes, there will be some restrictions on money transfers (which is why it is only "semi" bluff), but what they really hope is that they will pressure poker sites to kick off their USA customers.
Looks like HP will not fall for that, which is to their credit.
ANY poker site that kicks off USA customers has no guts and is just getting bluffed!

From what I can gather there will be an action under the WPO. Effectively the US is acting illegally (theres's a surprise!!!) and has been doing so for some time. Well it is the most corrupt government inthe world - bar none.

Well, I don't know about that. US can make any law it wants relative to USA citizens and companies. It just should not have any force as far as international poker sites, is my point.
I notice they did not make it illegal for US citizens to have a bank account in a foreign country--oh, I guess they could NOT outlaw that, since then the govt people would have no place to keep their funny money!!!! ;) ;) So we can most surely count on that always being there as an option.
