Hi,
Everything was working fine with Netscape Browser, and I switched to Internet Explore, and could no longer see the default screen. So I clicked on the link that says something like" Having trouble viewing?". So then I downloaded a Java file and installed it, and now I don't have any sound. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks, Tim

Maybe it's your sound card. Are you getting sound for anything else?

If not then right click on My Computer icon and go down to properties and click on that.

click on hardware and device manager.

select your sound/video/game controllers and look for your sound card.

it will be something like realtec audio. select it then hit refresh.

Hi,
I have sound everywhere else, just not at Hollywood Poker; and it started immediately after I downloaded the Java file. Everything was fine earlier at the tables. I switched browsers to Internet Explorer, could not see the default screen, downloaded the Java file, re-booted, and now I can't hear anything on Hollywood Poker with either browser. Makes it real tough not being able to hear the warning beep. Tim

You may want to go into preferences, or options in the downloaded version and click 'sound'. It may be unchecked.

Hi Chippy,
Did any of the above suggestions work? If not let me know and I will see what I can find.

Hi Patricia,
Uh, I didn't realize there was a download version - I always play on line. So, the problem can't be in the download version, thus can't change preferences, and can't check the sound box. The problem still has to be in the Java file that I downloaded.
If I do download the Hollywood Poker file, does that mean I would then play from my desktop? In other words, I wouldn't have to play on-line? Thanks, Tim

Okay, I'm not sure what is going on. I am going to pass your problem on the support and see if they can figure it out.

Hi Patricia,
Just tried the download version, and it gives me an error message when I start it. Says somehing about "causing an error and will now close".
Is there a way to uninstall the Java file that I downloaded? In the meanwhile, I'll play without sound, but I sure do miss the warning beep.

In the control panel of your computer there is a "add/remove file" icon, click on that and you should see something that says Java. Mine says Jave 2 Runtime Environment, remove that and see if it helps.
