View Full Version : Playing against Stars.

I have been in two Bonner games the last few hours and I wonder why people cannot let the stars play in peace.

The first game, started out with the person begging for attention after the star said he was also playing another game along with the Bonner game. The cry for attention became so severe it was almost pornographic. I was not only embarrassed for the person throwing herself at the star, I was embarrassed for being a part of the general public. I blew out of that game... fast...

The second game started out with pure obnoxiousness. It never let up, and it only became worse as the game went on. This game I also blew out because I did not want to be a part of that whole situation.

I think I have a fear of playing any small tournie tables, ring games or other games that stars play at on their own time for their own enjoyment. I certainly do not want to be remembered as "the girl at the obnoxious table".

To Jimmy and Chris, I am sorry for the behavior of those players, please do not judge us all by their actions.
Thanks..
Tara.

I prefer not to leave those games - that would mean the 'baddies' reached some of their goals. Taking them out feels a lot better. ;)

I am sure both of them are far above judging everyone by the actions of a few. They have way too much class for that!

 I'm sure the stars will not judge the rest of us according to those few morons.

I also would not have left but would have taken great satisfaction taking out the offending people if I could.

One other point to make is dont we all have the ability to mute at the table?

True we have the abilitiy to mute, but I think you are missing something here. Both of these games embarrassed me for being a member of the human population. I heard tales of this behavior, however, this is the first time I was witness to it. This is not a once in a while occurance, this is a frequent flyer. I doubt I would even play poker if every time I sat down to play, one of these two instances occurred. Perhaps this is why so few stars are interested in play the celeb tournies and such. Its a matter of respect not a matter of mute. kthx.

I witness this behaviour all the time. It is embarassing for the rest of us and I hate to think these few people will drive the stars away and ruin it for the rest of us.

I think support should give the stars the ability to kick abusive people off the game server so that they cannot log on for 1 hr after the boot. If the same person continually harrasses then they get a 1 month ban.

And don't cry that they might be playing a real money game. If they are playing in a real money game then they should behave themselves. If they were booted during one then they can only blame themselves.

That is a good idea.. I think the abuse needs to stop or none of them will want to play anymore.

I have to agree, I have been in this situation also and watched the the insanity. As a brownoser myself its pretty bad when even I am sickened physically at certain people throwing themselves at stars in this way. Hearing about who they know and how they know them with 6 degrees of separation everytime I am at a table is nothing but extremely frightening to say the least. If you ask most stars I am sure they are pretty creeped out by this psycho stalkers comments and actions. If this doesn't stop restraining orders will be needed....oh and as for people who would say jealousy is a factor in my opinion well if I have to be jealous of a delusion than maybe I need therapy too

I disagree with the idea that stars get to kick people out of games. I am also often attacked at tables ("Gaybio" is a common insult), and I just mute the offender if I can't take it. A star can do the same. It is up to support, or some HP representative, to ban folk.

What ever happened to the Vote jerks off the table button?

That's a play money-only option for ring games. Most celebs seem to play tourneys or SNG's. My theory is that they aren't playing to win money, necessarily, but to enjoy the thrill of winning. In ring games, there really isn't a definite winner, even if you finish way ahead of your buy-in.

NP - I used to be a play money warrior way back in the day over across the street, so I'm familiar with the voting process.
