I figure someone should make a thread of various...what's the word? Unorthodox poker tips. I don't want to necessarily call it bad advice - you guys can do that. If these tips seem like a good idea to you, well then I hope to see you at my table.

Tip #1:

Always call all-in with 2 people already all-in when you have one high card and one low card. The idea behind this is that you might flop a few low cards and have your bottom card pair or triple up. If the flop comes with high cards? Well, that's why you have the other card in your hand. Thing is, make sure it isn't an ace. With everyone else going all-in, they must have an ace in their hands - make sure you have a hand like K4 or J3 if you're going to try this. Remember - the conditions have to be just right to pull it off, but it's a sure winner everytime. You're welcome.

Well obviously that hand is in it's own category of unorthodoxity.

Tip #2:

Everyone already knows that hands like AA, KK, and QQ are among the best starting hands you can have, but there's yet another tricky hand that is the very best hand to have in a multi-way pot. I ask you this: what 2 cards, if removed from the deck, would make it impossible to make a straight? That's right - the 5 and the 10.

I almost hate to give this tip away, as I know I'm going to severely cut into my profits, but here I go anyways - 5,10 offsuit is a hidden MONSTER of a hand. You have Ace, 2, 3, 4 on the board? You're covered. 6,7,8,9? Likewise. J,Q,K,A? You got Broadway. And why offsuit, you may ask? I feel silly stating the obvious, but having a 5 and a 10 of 2 different suits gives you not one but TWO chances at a flush! This practically doubles your chances of winning the hand, as a flush beats a straight.

For those that are more mathmatically inclined, here are the numbers. Don't bother to check the math, as I assure you it's correct:

5,10 suited vs a random hand - 35%
5, 10 offsuit vs a random hand - 70%

Obviously, you'd be a preflop favorite. With 2 opponents in the pot with you, this allows you to triple up. Since 3 times 70 is 210, this hand is 210% guarranteed to work! Once again - you're welcome.

Tip #3 - it's time to learn how to play monster starting hands. And no - not Q3 or 5,10 - the OTHER monster starting hand: pocket aces.


Now everyone knows that pocket aces can't be beaten unless the doom switch is on, or in case the poker site you are playing at is "rigged." This is important - make SURE the site is not rigged before you play this hand! If you're in the clear - proceed. Since AA under normal circumstances is unbeatable, you must maximize your chances of getting a huge payout. That is why you must always limp in with them, no matter what position you're in. Pocket aces heads-up is nice and all, but pocket aces versus 7 other players is WAY better! To achieve this, you must make sure that your bet doesn't scare anyone off, so keep it low.

I know, I know - it hurts when you let the big blind check his option and watch his J4 hit trips, but when it happens, you have nobody to blame but the site itself. It's obviously rigged. :waytogo:

limping with aces in early position on a full table is just nuts. you dont want 7 or more callers you nut. that makes you a dog and most likely someone will have you beat. so go back to your poker books and quit spewing out so much donk garbage.
