Angry Yikes! Don't get in a hurry to call

Tonight I played in the Red Carpet tournament and 20 min after the 1st break I was in 3rd place with about 6200 chips. I was third of three players in the hand and I had J9 with 7,8,9 on the board. If I know I'm going to call, I usually check the option before my turn comes up so people don't have to wait for me.

The first player bet 300 and as just has I clicked Call 300, the player to my right went all in over 6200 and I don't know if there was a time delay or some other bizarre thing happened but just as I was clicking Call 300 it changed to Call 6500 (or whatever it was) and it put me all in and I lost to the str8 he had on the flop and finished in 24th place. I'm sure the guy I inadvertantly called luvs the fact that I doubled him up and put him in first place!

That totally sucked but I learned a valuable lesson for free since I didn't pay to get in the tourney....I will never again check the option to call until it's my turn to bet!

Default I agree but.....

......then you get some knob cheese click to vote you off the table as you dare to think about what you want to do, or the game tells you to hurry up 2 secs after it is your turn. ********* is the worst for that.

Yea I agree, but there must be a tradeoff between the time a player has to decide and how long the rest of the table MUST wait. The problem could occur at a full table when everyone exhausts their time limit ...causing the number of hands to decrease. But I wouldn't mind if the time was increased by a few seconds .

WTF!

A tradeoff? This makes no sense. You get so much time, and if you want to use it that IS YOUR PEROGATIVE. PR's vote system is moronic in the extreme, due to the childish antics of most PR players.

As for number of hands decreasing, from what standard? You assume that you should have X number of hands per hour.

Well,
There is no standard number of hands, but I like to play online poker to get in 50 hands an hour or so. That is only my opinion....

I don't disagree with this at all, however this system allows me to play the number of hands I wish to play without having to be playing online poker for an extended period of time. I actually have the means to play poker for half an hour and still actually play many hands. Without this system if I fold a hand I may need to wait 5 to 10 minutes for a winner in that hand and therefore I may only be able to play 5 or so hands...but as I said this is only my opinion.
